  • Viability: Detects fetal cardiac activity (when expected for gestational age)

  • Number: Single vs. multiple pregnancy
  • Early structures: Gestational sac, yolk sac, and subchorionic hemorrhage if present

All scans are carried out by highly experienced clinicians, with results explained during your appointment and a full written report delivered within 24 hours.

Medical disclaimer

This is a diagnostic assessment and does not replace ongoing prenatal care with your OB provider. It is not a full anatomy scan or nuchal translucency exam. Abnormal findings may require additional testing or referral. If you have severe abdominal pain, heavy bleeding, dizziness/fainting, or shoulder-tip pain, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.

How to prepare

  • Hydration: Arrive with a comfortably full bladder (drink ~16–24 oz water 45–60 min before; don’t urinate).
  • Bring your LMP date and any prior labs/ultrasounds if available.
  • You may be asked to empty your bladder before a transvaginal scan for better detail.

Who this scan can help

  • Positive home pregnancy test seeking confirmation and dating
  • Lower abdominal pain or light bleeding in early pregnancy (non-emergency)
  • Clarifying due date when LMP is uncertain or cycles are irregular
